Jonathan Trott was born in South Africa and later he went to England to build his cricket career. His stunning performance in country cricket made him a regular member of England Cricket Team. He followed the example of Kevin Pietersen and left South Africa. At the beginning of his career he was criticized by most of the South African cricket for leaving his own country. But after that he probed why English Cricket team rely on him. He hit a hundred on Test debut at The Oval.

Trott also played for South Africa in the Under-15 and Under-19 World Cups. In the Bangaldesh tour he was  out of form but he came back strongly in the series and country cricket and gained his place again in English team.
